Viewlands House has at its centre a beautiful B-listed mansion, built in 1840

Viewlands House has been thoughtfully extended over the years, and now provides a warm, welcoming home for 32 residents. The House is very well maintained and continually updated, including installation of solar panels to reduce our carbon footprint, and high speed WiFi being available in all rooms.

In addition, there are six private bungalows in the grounds of Viewlands House which offer independent living under a Scottish Government Private Residential Tenancy.

32 residents live in our elegant main building, situated in a prestigious residential area of Perth. The House is set in landscaped gardens, and many rooms have extensive views over Perth city and beyond.

Our rooms, set over three floors with lift access, are light and bright, and kept spotlessly clean by our dedicated team.

With garden views and homely furnishings, every room offers a quiet sanctuary for residents. Each room has a fitted carpet, a spacious fitted wardrobe and an ensuite shower room.

We encourage our residents to bring additional furniture of their choosing, along with ornaments, photos and artwork to make their room personal to them.

There is a television and telephone point in each room, which can be used to connect the resident’s own devices.

Free high speed Wi-Fi is available in all areas of Viewlands House.

Our Rooms

Viewlands House has several light, airy public rooms available for use by all residents.

Our grand bay-windowed lounge is a focus for events and activities as well as everyday enjoyment of conversation and television.

Our spacious dining room, also with a large bay window and our airy conservatory provide a lovely environment for meals freshly prepared by our kitchen team.

There are other smaller public rooms which provide space for quiet reflection, or for pastimes, as well as being lovely places to meet with friends and family.

Adjacent to the House is a separate social space where residents can meet friends or family, view special TV events, play cards and enjoy craft sessions.  This space can be reserved for family gatherings or other special occasions.

There is also a salon where a hairdresser is available two times each week, or which can be used by resident’s own stylist.

Public areas

Visitors are welcome at all times in Viewlands House and may visit residents in their room, in one of the public spaces, in the gardens or in our separate Annexe. The Annexe is particularly nice for small gatherings and celebrations and can be reserved in advance with light refreshments provided, for which there may be a small charge.

Family and friends may join a resident for lunch and/or the evening meal in either the conservatory or the upper lounge for a modest charge.

Visitor facilities

viewlands gardens

The mature and expertly maintained gardens are a real feature of Viewlands House, having won awards for the Best Care Home Gardens in the Perth in Bloom competition.

The gardens are a perfect place for gentle strolls, and with several benches and two charming summerhouses, they provide a special environment for time alone or with friends and family. Often on warm days, groups of residents also enjoy socialising in the grounds.

Special summer occasions see the gardens really come alive with music, entertainment and treats including an ice cream stall
and home baking provided by by the Friends of Viewlands,
a team of local volunteers who help make residents’ time in Viewlands House extra-special.

Garden grounds

Mum has spent six months at Viewlands House.
Delighted with the care, it often feels like an extended family! The team are very tuned in to mum’s needs, and family always gets a great welcome by staff and residents.
